This time, we’re listening to Kirsty Hawkshaw’s album, The Ice Castle.
Kirsty was discovered at a rave in her early 20’s and was key in forming Opus 3. The first single, “It’s A Fine Day,” was an international success and was a Top 10 hit on the UK Singles chart and made the coveted #1 position on Billboard’s U.S. Dance charts in 1992. Opus 3 had another #1 hit in ’94 titled, “When You Made the Mountain.”
After Opus 3 broke up, Kirsty’s angelic voice was featured in tracks by Orbital, BT, Hybrid, Tiesto and Delirium. She’s since pursued a solo career and has released a few albums on her own.
